In the old age, science did not come into being and people were ignorant of many things. Some led a savage life, and they were very helpless. But with the passage of time, science and knowledge flourished and men learnt many things. Men no longer remained savages and they stated living in society. In the ancient age men did not have lack of wealth and they lived in plenty. However,in course of time, man’s demand has increased, and he has started inventing new items for his fulfillment. The ancient people did not get many modern facilities; yet according to Mathew Arnold, The sea of faith was once, too at the full…. But now I only hear its melancholy long, withdrawing roar. The ancient people led a very simple and easy life and there were less chaos and confusions among them. But the modern people have become busy, commercial and they are like ignorant armies’ clash by night. In the modern age, science has bestowed upon us many things. But at the same time, we cannot overlook the destruction of modern science. Science has protected a number of lives; yet it has destroyed million of lives. The ancient people believed in superstition but the modern people have become free from it. Every age has its own characteristics and the people have to survive with continuous efforts. Whether we like it or not, we cannot stop the forward march of time. Rather, We should try our best to utilize science and human resources to make this world an ideal dwelling place.
